Kanban view

It would be great if you could check your tasks in Kanban view based on their statuses. Every status could be a column in the Kanban view. You could change the tasks view between List and Kanban.

The idea in more detail:

You could choose the statuses from a drop-down menu for instance, in the task parameters. You could declare the status options based on where you are in the hierarchy (Tasks/Tags/Sub-tags/etc.).

There could be a possibility in a specific view (select option), so that the tasks could inherit the status options from a parent view or you could declare new ones or you could just leave them untouched.

Statuses e.g.: Planned(Hidden), To do, In Progress, Waiting for, Done(Completed)

With the important and urgent setting I think the Eisenhower matrix would be more appropriate.

Let me suggest to implement the task status by (task) tags, as the tags mechanism is already there, we all are familiar with it, and it is customizable per se (e.g., you also want an additional "approval" step or the like in your workflows).

As an indispensible additional functionality, the tags mechanism needs the particular extension to *mutually exclusive* subtags. That way, assigning "in-progress" automatically removes "to-do", for instance. Whereas classic subtags are inclusive, the exclusive ones could be marked by a different separator, e.g. colon or whatever. This would result in "status:to-do" and "status:in-progress" etc.

This would be great.

I think it could be generalized from tasks to notes. For example if I am writing articles, I can have Drafting, Editing, Ready, and Published tags. It would be nice to move notes (not just tasks) among tags and to see a Kanban-like overview.

Can we have a kanban based on date to show which tasks have been targeted to start on that particular date/day? So we can visually see and do planning better. Able to drag and drop tasks between days better.

I remembered seeing this suggestion earlier and thought to comment, although personally I do not have a need for board view for Tasks.

What I would find useful, though, is a board / kanban view for tag+subtags combination. Meaning that the board view could be created for a top-level tag, and each of the buckets in the board would be based on its subtags.

My specific use case for this is that I track projects by having one main note for each project. These project notes are then tagged as #projects/backlog, #projects/options, #projects/waiting, #projects/wip.

Seeing all of those projects (notes) at the same time and having them categorised in buckets based on status (sub-tag) would be rather useful.

And of course having an option like this that would function based on tags would also create options for other kinds of categorisations where a more visual board view would be beneficial over the standard list view.

I find that some notes gather larger task lists and I struggle to organize them. I think a Kanban view of tasks inside of a note would be stellar. I currently create headings and drag tasks around.

Per @Gadwood's comment, having a Kanban board *with* the Eisenhower categories as swimlanes would be nice
