Paste Markdown
It would be really nice to be able to paste Markdown text into a note so that it remains its formatting.
For example if I paste "[Amplenote](https://amplenote.com)" it would insert the text as a link.

JudiYes! I use Espanso for text shortcuts and many of them are markdown formatted. Even the ability to paste and then highlight and select something like “apply formatting” would be appreciated.

JaimeCopy & Paste is at the core of my daily actions but apps that require me to reformat things just grind my gears especially when I'm trying to move fast.

robbI would very much like to be able to paste Markdown links. I use Hook for a lot of things and the markdown links it produces are better for a number of reasons. Thanks.

weirdCaution to devs: as I see it, for this to work properly, COPYING markdown is needed as well. Otherwise it would make it harder to draft things in markdown, which I do for github issues.
There are two options I see here:
A) only things PASTED are rendered/converted as markdown on the fly in Amplenote, after which they cannot be copied as markdown
B) ANYTHING typed or pasted into amplenote that fits markdown (or most markdown syntax) is rendered so that you can no longer see the markdown (WYSIWYM), but can be copied to retrieve the original markdown
A code block or something could probably be used to view the raw markdown syntax in the editor; either that or there could be a raw text mode or an Obsidian/Logseq-style local sync between plaintext files on your computer.
Lots of options to consider (though I personally haven't voted for this feature) -

StuartIf this gets through to being implemented, I'd like emailing or IFTTTing new bullets/tasks in to support it also

Jochen BurkhardI dared to go one step further with my "suggested features" board entry of: Amplecap should be able to capture (parts of) a webpage as Markdown text:
https://www.amplenote.com/suggested_features/11
I'm totally on board with your suggestions here, but figured, this should all be implemented in Amplecap.
Since I'm a founding member, I was able to put 3 more votes into the new board entry and so boost your approach even more.
Thank you all for your dedication on bringing MD copy & paste to fruiting inside the best app for us note aficionados.
Have a wonderful day,

John SmithThis is 100% expected behavior for me. Amplenote already formats text via Markdown and backs text up into Markdown, being able to paste Markdown and extract note contents into Markdown is expected.
