(Option to) Hide tasks from Tasks View, but not in the note.
I'd like to (have the option to) use 'HIDE UNTIL' so that tasks do not show in the Tasks View Mode (only), but keep them in place (and visible) within the Note.
Currently, if I create a task list within a project's note and decide to hide (tickler-file) some tasks, these tasks will go to the Hidden Tasks section at the bottom of the note ...
... but ... when I "unhide" the task it goes to a random location within the note (not the original place in my list). - This is particularly troublesome when the tasks were originally added as sequential steps.

Bill AdminWe recommend hiding tasks in Tasks View by using the Default Shortcut and tagging notes that are really tasks with a project identifier to organize them. On Default Shortcut: https://www.amplenote.com/help/tag_shortcuts_default_shortcut#Tag_Shortcuts%2C_and_the_Default_Shortcut
Using daily-jots as the Default Shortcut is a popular choice -

StuartIt's been a year since that was reviewed but I'd like to appeal for it to be considered again
Hidden tasks being invisible in the note I think actually undermines one of Amplenotes key benefits of gathering tasks from across different notes into a single list
I think Eddie's suggestion makes complete sense, but I don't understand Bill's response TBH
There's two different needs here:
1. add deferred tasks or reminders when breaking down a project in a note, so context matters here
2. seeing in the task view what actions you want to be doing now
Just because a deferred task is clutter for #2 until its date doesn't mean seeing it in context of #1 isn't still useful. Scrolling down to the hidden tasks tab at the bottom of a long note just to double check I did record the task, and later reapper elsewhere seems much less elegant than having the task stay in place in the note (still hidden in task view) but visually different, e.g. greyed out + showing the date it'll reappear -

Lucian AdminHey Stuart! In the meantime, we've added the Cross Out functionality (for completing tasks and leaving them inline) and I believe the long-term plan is to have more robust support for leaving tasks inline. I think the most refined version of this would work for completion, dismissal and hiding - that is all of these operations will keep the task in its original position in the note.
I think it would be best if you submitted a separate request with a more specific text (eg showing hidden tasks inside the note with a grayed out styling). This would help to properly track this idea.
Also, if you get the time, don't hesitate to spark a discussion on Discord about this. I'm sure a lot of people have some opinion on leaving tasks inline when completing/hiding.
