Allow for hideable sub-tasks aka collapsible/foldable bullet points
Preferably by toggle or folding. Like Workflowy/Roam.

Sam S MergedFeature in Roam that allows you to easily collapse/show sub-bullets. Helps to "clean up" a large list that you don't always want to show.

Brian Cohen AdminThis is now officially on our radar for the next couple months, probably prior to calendar.

JGrobelny MergedAbility to collapse selected blocks (bullets, headers, etc.) works really great within a note, as it enhances user experience with longer forms. My personal use case is notes "distillation" procedure: I keep generic "on the fly" notes as collapsed block, while those "distilled" are kept visible (unfolded).

Victor MergedLists of bullet points can quickly clutter the page. It'd be nice to be able to collapse bullet points.

AureliusThis, combined with an auto-updating Table of Contents sidebar and some quick-toggle buttons, would be an incredibly powerful toolset, especially when working with longer notes. I used Roam for a while and one of the biggest weaknesses I found was content overload: it’s easy to get lost amidst an endless sea of bullet points given the more unstructured UI. Amplenote’s structure already makes it easier to find information, so the addition of collapsible outlines alongside an easy way to navigate them would carry this advantage even further.

LLIt would be nice if subtasks remain as subtasks & be collapsable on the main TASKS overview page... currently all the subtasks from NOTES show up a primary tasks there.

KurrenThis might be a strange deal breaker but it has become one for me now, I'm so used to this after a year on roam. Once this feature is implemented I'm switching, when might that be? Thanks

WoodyNever realized how much I need this feature. After using Roam and Remnote for a while, this is a dealbreaker for me. It allows you to really clean up a page by collapsing all the sections.

Erich AngermayrExpanding/collapsing bullet points would be an important feature. Also, please increase the line spacing to make it easier to read, especially when you have a longer piece of text. And don't forget to add the vertical guidelines, also for better readability. Thanks.

CraigNot even necessarily collapsible but just having subtasks move with their parent would be a big step forward

ThomasGreat idea! -- In addition to collapse/expand of indented entries also zoom-in would be a nice feature (cf. outliners like Workflowy or Dynalist)

Bill AdminThanks for all the votes and suggestions everyone! This is now live as described in our recent blog post https://www.amplenote.com/blog/product_updates_mobile_calendar_collapsible_bullets_templates_more. We also implemented a list selection mode and the ability to drag and drop a set of potentially hierarchical (siblings also work) bullet or task nodes into a hierarchy.
We're actually still polishing this feature to see whether we can get a left border on the selected collapsible group, but all of the basic functionality for this is now live across all platforms. :-) -

JohnThanks so much for publishing this change! Is there any plan to extend this feature to Headings as well—ie. allow users to collapse all the content underneath a H1/H2/H3 tag?

Lucian AdminHey John! Collapsing headings is underway!

Tzvi KaufmanIs there any plan to have collapsible tasks in Calendar Mode so that you can hide Sub-tasks and only see the list of Parent Tasks? This is critical so that you can easily see what is a task or a sub-task for proper time blocking.

Anny2023 and still no toggle option? Big deal breaker for me, I was so excited when I found this app. What a turn down.

Lucian AdminHey Anny! Amplenote now allows you to fold/collapse both Headings and Task lists. Check it out and let us know what you think!
