Ability to create a direct hyperlink to an Email
Microsoft ToDo and Spark have the ability to create unique hyperlinks to Emails. This is very useful for follow up Emails, or getting back to the original Email in general. The current Email to Amplenote is great for seeing the text, but does not allow a response directly without first going back to the Email client and searching for the specific Email.

Lucian AdminHey Mike. If I understand correctly, your request is for allowing a quick way back to an email sent to Amplenote. If you're using an email client in your browser, this is already possible (to the extent to which you can adapt your workflow) by using the Amplecap browser extension. Amplecap can let you send both the text of the email and the URL inside the web app you're using for emailing. Let me know if this works for you. Otherwise, it would be very useful to get an example (the more visual the better) of how Microsoft ToDo and Spark achieve this.

MikeHello Lucian, that is true, this can be done with Amplecap through the web browser for Emails. Amplecap does not capture the Email subject line, allow the user to set a due date, or share the link with other users. This is especially beneficial with Emails containing attachments that Amplenote does not (currently) allow a user to attach to a note as a reference item. As a workaround, the original Email can be linked to getting to the attachment quickly and the thread for context.
As a use case, I would love to be able to do the following:
1.) (Based on your previous suggestion) Use Outlook's web version with a link to the original Email.
2.) Capture with Amplecap (default with the subject of the Email, set a due date, default with a #follow-up or a preferred tag)
There may be a way to do some of this or a better way already. I am tweaking my workflow for less friction in my process, so any feedback is welcome and appreciated. -

Lucian AdminHey Mike! Neither mail-to-note nor Amplecap are able to set due dates for tasks. However, the public API that Amplenote exposes is capable of doing all of those things. If you don't mind, do join our Discord server and start a conversation on our channel dedicated to plug-in-building. It's possible that someone out there is willing to help this cause and build a plug-in for this.
Otherwise, it would be great if you could submit a more specific feature request on this leaderboard. For example, you could formulate a request for mail-to-note to include attachments. Or for Amplecap to allow adding due dates.
I'm not personally a very heavy email user, but whenever I need to mark an email as actionable I just grab its URL using Amplecap. This makes it fast to go back to the email's context and I don't really need its contents in Amplenote. Using Amplecap it should be easy to also add the subject line as the caption text, if it's not added automatically from the tab title.
