Group tasks by tag in Tasks view
Currently, I can group tasks by Note or Note Creator. I would like ot have the ability to group tasks by tag so that I can see tags that belong to notes sharing the same tag. This would enable a better context view when tasks are viewed.

Lucian AdminSounds like there is no obvious benefit that grouping has over filtering (eg you can already filter by tag using the sidebar). If you get the time, could you please clarify what is the particular use case that would benefit from grouping by tag?

Jack ElliottThe obvious benefit is that if you are a heavy user of Amplenote, you will have hundreds if not thousands of notes with tasks scattered around. But, the number of tasks you have will be far less than the number of notes you have. So grouping by note will allow you to see the titles of your notes that has tasks in them.
A perfect example would be tasks that are in daily jots. Tasks that you write in your daily jot as you remember them. Later on, you might want to see all your tasks that are under your daily jot tag. Currently, the only way to do this is to manually filter your tasks one by one for each date in your daily jots.
UPDATE: Thanks to your comment on another post where I requested the ability to filter tasks by tag, the above use case can be partially achieved by clicking on a tag first. -

Lucian AdminI might be misunderstanding, but you can already group by note in Tasks Mode. Namely, you can select a tag and then group by note. So for example, selecting "#daily-jots" and then grouping by not would show all tasks and they Note source.

Nicole BrownI too would love this feature. This is because I tend to organise my whole life through Areas of Focus and generally I will work on one area at a time. Therefore in any moment when I am scheduling my day, my focus might be to finalise all recruitment work. Then I want to see all the tasks that I have marked as being related to work/recruitment. Or on the week-end I might just want to see all the things I have tagged as personal/home-improvement. I don't care whether it is something I have noted down in a daily_jot or if it is one of my long-term goals. When I am in that context I want to priorities all the tasks related to that area of my life. I don't want to go back to the note and find it. That is one of the most appealing features of this app is that it very easily extracts the tasks from the notes. Plus if you can group by tags then you can still all your tasks and know which area has the most outstanding tasks helping me decide my focus for the day.
