Split calendar appointment

For some longer tasks, that take longer than a couple hours, it would be useful if there were a tool to split the calendar invite into two, so that hte second time allotment can be scheduled later in the day or on another day. I envision something similar to a video editing tool that splits a clip into two pieces, each can be intependatly adjusted. Thanks!
