While it is not strictly markdown, it would be useful for some to be able to apply highlighting to text, e.g., a yellow background that resides behind text.
This is useful to be able to apply "Progressive Summarization" as popularized by Tiago Forte.

CMD+H on MacOS is used by Mac to hide a window.Therefore it is unusable, try it on Chrome Mac.Map another shortcut please.
