Bill AdminThis makes a lot of sense. If anyone has screenshots of an approach they like well for this, we might be able to fast track implementation for this.

Jean PierreRoam Research and Obsidean have such options too. I like the "cose lay-out" most in RR. In general the idea behind the "graph view" is to see the connections between notes. And the way around also to see notes that are not connected, what might inspire you to connect to different notes while you see them from a different perspective.

Viver de DividendosThis is really cool and will make a huge difference.
I look forward to this new feature. -

PablosThe graph views in Roam & Obsidian are mostly useless. A much better example of a navigable graph would be http://thebrain.com - It would be super useful to be able to "walk" the graph in Amplenote this way.

NickI also like the idea of following the Brain but there used to be a service Moh.io, now gone, one could connect to Evernote but also Google Drive and Box.com. It was like a multi service portal so you could see connections with all of them. I don't think there was much demand but to get that kind of macro view was both effective and inspiring. Here is a youtube channel showing some old demos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxFa2qGwIQ19foLg6rOkWeg
I remember one obvious issue and that was unnecessary draining on bandwidth, also questionable use for mobile devices. The graph itself should be simple but give a quick overview just like Jean Pierre said -

GadwoodMabe something simple like this

GadwoodReally love Nick’s proposition of Moh.io for the look. Manually opening link from note to note like on the video is really nice. When you see every thing you don’t see anything anymore.

GadwoodIt's would be nice to see the note overview when overing node from graph view like link over preview.

GadwoodHere's my idea for graph view:

ErichThe graph view is an important and much-needed feature. For inspiration, go to Zenkit Hypernotes, , TheBrain.com, Obsidian.
-

Erich AngermayrPlease make the Graph View a priority. Check out TheBrain.com. Another interesting solution is the graph view in Hypernotes (Zenkit).
As a Founder plan member, I hope this will have some weight! -

ErichGraph view would be the feature I desire most. In fact, it'll be crucial for me if Amplenote wants to become the go-to solution for note-taking, Zettelkasten, etc. Take a look at TheBrain.com and Hypernotes (Zenkit) to get inspiration.

DietrichYes please! This is an awesome feature I miss from Obisdian

KenI would like to see Amplenote incorporate a 'graph view' like that of Relanote (https://relanote.com/)..then Applenote would be perfect for me!

Michael ColeThis might be a less popular thought: however perhaps a friendly call and an api integration with obsidian would be a reasonable fix.
Amplenote could focus on task management which they do best and obsidian can focus on the zettelkasten that they do best.
Rather than each trying to please everyone and ending up pleasing noone.
Obsidian users have made so many plugins for task management but haven’t really nailed it and I suspect amplenote have enough on their plate already on their road map.
Instead of competing on features why not just strike up a friendly partnership and let each set of users get the best of both worlds?
The roadmap both apps have would probably be essentially 80% shorter.
Both apps could just focus on the 20% that they already kick ass on.
I bet within a couple months, 80% of features asked for would be sorted simply by virtue that each app already does what the other hasn’t yet built.
The users only need the apps to utilise the same vault. -

Javier Hernandez KuretIn my opinion Obsidian and Logseq provide the best graph view. Being able to zoom in/out, focus on a topic, move nodes around, the animations, etc.

JorisI would like to propose "https://www.scrintal.com/" as a perfect reference for a much more useful solution compared to obsidian. The fact being able to see the content of the notes within the "graph" makes the graph view useful and not only a nice-to-look-at-feature ;-)
Is there any update regarding you approach or status? -

Hao JinyuLogseq and Obsidian graph view are pleasant to the eyes. But the graph view should be useful rather than appealing. Correct me if I'm wrong 😅

GauteAny progress on this? I have a lot of notes but looking for a better way to find relations.
-
27 Apr
Lucian AdminYes! We have an initial design for this. Can't give you a time estimate, but I can say that it's looking great so far :)
-

Chase CrawfordThis should definitely include a local graph view as well similar to how Obsidian shows you notes linked to the selected note.

SebastianAre there any news or a time estimation for this feature?
-
26 Jun
Lucian AdminYes! We've just finished the design for it and it's a pretty high priority task. I'm thinking (without making any certain promises) that it should get done by the end of Q3 this year, maybe sooner.
-
26 Jun
SebastianNice, Thank you for your great work! Will that be available for everyone or only for accounts with "Early access to new features"?
-
28 Jun
Lucian AdminGiven the large scope of the feature (& proneness to bugs) we might roll it out to founders first for a few weeks, as we usually do with larger releases. That's TBD, though.

DietrichSo excited for this! Was seriously considering migrating to Obsidian then I decided if this feature is in consideration. It appears it's coming sooner than I expected!
-

DietrichIs there any news on this feature? Thanks!
-
22 Aug
Lucian AdminWe've finalized design for it, which for a feature like this (that is so design-heavy) is big progress. I don't have an ETA for you, but we're treating it with pretty high priority right now!

jejousHello ! Any news on it ?

Lucian AdminHey Jejous! This feature is currently under implementation!
