It would be nice to add tags to a note inline instead of having to go up to the tag list above the note. This would make it very easy to tag a note while typing. E.g.
"Had lunch with #Bob today" is much easier to type than "Had lunch with Bob" and then having to go up and add the "#Bob" tag to the note.

Aaron BJust to add to this. It would be really helpful if you do a daily note/journal format for your note-taking. As you work through the day just need to #client #meeting and whatever notes/tasks go with it. Would make finding the 'why' on the tag a lot more effective when cycling through lots of lengthy notes.

Chris DI would find this extremely useful also. Would be great to be able to add a tag to a task. An example would be David Allen's GTD principle of a task that can be completed in less than 2 minutes. A tag of "2:00" or "2Min" would help to quickly identify and/or sort those types of tasks when you have 5 minutes to spare.

Bill AdminAs an update, we have discussed this feature and have a provisional plan to tackle it, but it's big and there are a few other big tasks in front of it. We'll get to it sometime in 2021.
In the meantime, there are a couple options to consider.
One option is to create notes with multiple tags and add tasks to those notes. For example, [[/todo/project-a/15 minute tasks]] would create a note with tag "todo/project-a". You can also add other tags to that note, like "todo/15-minute". Open the note (Quick Open -> "15" -> enter) and any task you add is tagged in your main "todo" parent tag (which can be marked a Shortcut) as both "project-a" and "15-minute." Consider applying multiple tag hierarchies to sift tasks into the contexts/work modes you operate from.
The simpler option for GTD/quick tasks is to just mark tasks as "15 minute" (there's a hotkey for it) and sort your notes/tasks by Task Score. 15 minute tasks percolate to the top quickly :) -

Dean McGrathThe issue with your suggestion is that in the same note I my have multiple tasks that have different contexts for execution. Any tag I add to a note will be applied globally to every task.
Example:
Task 1 Context = @computer
Task 2 Context = @phone
Your method would have both tasks show up in both contexts which is not the intended purpose of contexts.
Unless I am missing something -

Spencer OgdenAnother vote brainwashed by the Roam approach of Tags=Links. I find it very elegant, and nice to have a subtle format difference to separate purpose, but essentially have the same functionality underlying each.
As an additional suggestion for those looking to do this now, just use a quick [[ and a one word, or no space link as a tag. Doesn't show exactly how you might expect, and not great for searching, but not bad. -

ErikI'm a little confused on the implementation of this. Would inline tags apply to a line, a header, or still the entire note?

AureliusI think it would be useful to have tags and links merged. As it stands, I often find myself doubling up: adding the page link within the note text, then adding a tag for the exact same concept. Tags are better for search and filtering, but page links come with the benefit of backlinks. I tend to make use of both features, so it would be more efficient to have them combined in most cases.
