Preserve tags with duplicate note
Please can we have an option to preserve tags when duplicating a note. I want to use this for templates for meeting notes in particular. I have a weekly leadership meeting and I’d like to be able to navigate to that tag and select my template note and just duplicate it for the coming meeting. Then have the notes appear under the same tags.
I would do this with 1-1s and other types of note too.
Also, can the duplicate option be in the initial menu drop down and not the secondary one? It’s a function I use several times a day.

This seems a bug to me. If I did wish to not have the original tags on the new note, it is much easier and faster to remove tags (2 clicks) than it is to re-add them. -

ChristinaHi, I'd like to second this request. @Vince, there is a quick way to draw up templates using [[ and then = right after and typing out the note you desire to duplicate. However, crossing over tags is really a good suggestion.

AndreasThat would be a very helpful addition indeed. I also wanted to create a template for my journals where I have 3 tags set up for them. It would be a really good time-saver in my humble opinion.

Pat Nims@Lucian - What plugin duplicates a note and preserves tags? There is a plugin to create an empty new note with the same tags, that is not the same thing.

Josh MergedToday, when I duplicate a note, the tag section in the new note is left empty.
The tags on the original note should also be included. This would be useful when there are five to six tags in the original note!
Maybe an option in the 'duplicate note' popup could be added if the user only want to duplicate the content. -

Lucian System"A duplicated note should retain tags of the original note" (suggested by <Hidden> on 2024-12-18), including upvotes (1) and comments (0), was merged into this suggestion.
