Support overall note content font size adjustement (or sync with iOS/Android global setting)
As simple as it sounds. The default text size can be a tad small at times, so it would be useful to have an option to adjust it in Settings.

Bill AdminOne of our Core Customer Values (https://www.amplenote.com/blog/core_values_robust_export_fast_cancellation_always_listening) is to ensure customers can easily export their documents, so we wouldn't want the size of the text within a particular note.

In terms of global resizing, I believe both macOS and Windows have a hotkey to enlarge text. On macOS it is Cmd-+ in most browsers. That might help? -

sikHow about in the mobile app? It would be nice if you could adjust the font size.

Lucian Admin@Sik, please do consider submitting another request for text size tweaking, as an UI option (since Bill already explained that we are not currently considering this as an editor optoin).

YazThis is imperative. It should be a given, not a feature request as it excludes many older people from using your app. Please check out:

Lucian Admin@Yaz, please note that on the web Amplenote app you can simply use Ctrl + to enlarge the text. On mobile, you can tweak the system settings to make text larger and that will reflect in the Amplenote app.

Shocker FanEN has a font size (point) selection and they can export notes. A "core value" is customer should easily export their text.
Wouldn't a "Higher" core value be EASE of Use"?
At my age a "one size fits all" small text is not so customer friendly. -

AJ Mac25I agree with the need to be able to increase the font size in the desktop (Mac) app. It is way too small for those of us over the age of 50.

I understand I can use the increase font size on the browser but I would like to be able to do this on the desktop app also.
Thank you. -

Robert+1 for me.

I can't read my notes. I'd like to make the text bigger without increasing the size of the ui.
The ability to add Custom CSS (like you can in Dynalist for instance) would solve this issue. But I bet that would be harder to implement. -

TracyI am looking at AmpleNote again. The font is so tiny on Mac desktop that it's unusable for me. I can use the web app (with Cmd +), but then I can't work offline. Surely there is some way to allow a larger font. Probably a deal breaker. 😟

Lucian AdminHey Tracy. We don't actually have a Desktop app (yet). The App Store app is just a port of the mobile one. Please note that the web app will work offline once all note are downloaded (which happens automatically the first time you log in).

MinhThe font size of text on Desktop app (MacOS) is VERY SMALL (compare to text displays on other apps). I think it's a very serious problem. With me, it's a cons to decide buying Amplenote.
Wish you fix it soon.
Sincerely, -

Lucian Admin@Minh - please note that we don't actually have a Desktop app yet. The macOS app is just a port of the mobile one (and we don't directly support it). To increase font size on Mac, you can use the web app inside your browser and use Cmd-+ to change font size.

John eppI cannot believe how absurdly tiny the text is on iOS. I have the text globally enlarged in iOS but it's still half the size of the text in the Messages app. I think it's a deal breaker for me, in addition to not highlighting searched text.

LeandroOn Android the text is so small that it is difficult to use the app.

William Butchart MergedThe text size on the iPad is quite small and can be an issue at times. Even increasing the font by a few levels would be really helpful.

CKYaz, John, Minh are correct, "Earth to AmpleNote, this should be a given." It is a show stopper for adoption for me as well.

Jerry ColemanI downloaded the IOS app today as I am in a trial to see if I want to use the system to replace EN. The font size on IOS if really small and apparently no way to change it. Lot of my other apps just use the global size setting in IOS but I think this might be a deal breaker for me. It seems most developers are young people who dont think they will ever get to 50. haha. I was once one too. Please think of ALL your users. Thank you.

Lucian AdminChanged from "Not Planned" to "Under consideration" and edited the title to reflect that this feature is for MOBILE text size adjustement as an overall setting (as opposed to an editor function)

NickTesting out different potential Evernote replacements, I'm trying Amplenote now but the notes are illegible on Android phones due to the small font. Changing the system font size doesn't affect the Amplenote font size. Probably ok if you're younger than 40, but I can't read it.

JoernI think its important to have a Setting for font-size increase. Apps like Bear, Upnote and others have this option. I find it very important and at the moment it could be a deal breaker for me and stay with bear.

cloverThis is the reason why I deleted amplenotes after trying it out once. Not sure if they make the font size bigger since i haven't gone back. What's the purpose of writing notes if you don't even wanna look at them after writing cuz it made your eyes hurt? And you have to make the font size two or three times larger globally on mobile so that the font size is "decent". It makes all the text on my android unnecessarily large and bloated and I don't wanna do that just for ONE APP.

BenOn Android, even when I max out the display and font sizes so that everything on my phone looks ridiculous, the Amplenote text is still extremely small.
Reading it is bad enough, but when you have to tap the note to start typing, or when I try to tap a link, it's difficult to hit the right place and get the cursor where I want it because the text is tiny. -

VinceIs there any update on this? - The text is really small on the iPad. You can make the text even smaller with the in built iPadOS text adjuster, but not enlarge it to a sensible size.
The web app version can be adjusted, but the mac desktop app cannot. -

VinceThe default controls in iOS and iPadOS change the font size of the menus etc, but not the body text. Making this work would solve the problem.
Similarly, the desktop apps are now out and there is not font size adjustment on these (and not built into the OS). Can this be added to the app?
The problem with using the browser + and - is that the interface also changes size. I don't think this is about specifying a font size that might mess with export, it's more about the base font size that the others are relative to (e.g. headings etc).
Thank you for considering it, it will make a big difference to my use.
