Ctrl + drag-and-drop to reschedule only the current instance of a recurring task
Would be cool to have an option for changing the start date (or maybe even the duration?) of a single occurrence of a repeating task.
Holding Ctrl while dragging the task itself (maybe limited to only the current day, in order to avoid weird recurrence edge cases) would reschedule the current instance, while keeping the future tasks unaffected.
As a bonus, holding Ctrl while dragging the edge of a task to change its duration, would only affect the current occurrence of the repeating task too.

Lucian AdminEdit: it is possible to reschedule only the current instance of an event by changing its "start at" time, but leaving its rule unchanged. For anyone wondering, the "rule" of a repeating task is what appears when you open the task detalis and click on the text describing the recurrence (for example "every day").

My suggestion would be nice to have as handy calendar, mouse-only option. -

Jack Elliott MergedChanging a single occurrence of a task in a a recurring task is currently not possible - unless, that occurrence is the first one that is going to take place.

When I am on my Calendar view and try to move an occurrence to a different time slot, Amplenote moves the entire recurring task. It would be great if it did give me the option to change the occurrence or change the entire series - similar to what TickTick / Todoist does. -

Alexander MergedI agree. It's not great that when schedule a recurring task for the day. Say you're running late for breakfast and need to move it to later in the morning, you don't want to change the schedule of all other breakfasts in the future because you're late for this one day. My workaround for this is creating a separate task and then pushing the recurring task to the next day, but that's not ideal.

David MergedYes, I think this is a crucial feature for the Calendar view. In Google Cal, when you move a recurring task, a dialog box pops up asking if you want to edit "this event," "this and following events," or "all events." I'd love to see a similar implementation in Amplenote. Right now, my weekly planning is crippled because I can't adjust recurring tasks to fit this week's unique schedule.

Examples: It's Sunday. I want to plan my week. I know on Wednesday, I won't be able to get to my daily "journaling" task at my regular time of 7am, so I want to move it to the evening. I can't find any way to do this without moving all instances of the task. Let's say on Tuesday I know I absolutely can't get around to journaling. I want to dismiss just that day's occurrence. There's no way for me to do this. This is frustrating because it prevents me from planning ahead. -

Chris+1 really hoping for this.
I had to write a plugin just to populate my routine daily tasks from a text template note into current jot so I can move them around as my schedule changes.
I would be perfect if I could drag around (incl iOS 🤞) a recurring task without changing the original time . -

Klaudia MergedI have multiple tasks I do every day. When I plan my next day, sometimes one of those recurring tasks has to happen at a different time than every other day. For example, I take my dogs to the park every day. I have a recurring task for this at 5:30pm everyday. Most days I do this right after work, but sometimes I have to go at a different time. I'd love to be able to move the task time for one day but not change all future task times.

Moisés+1! we need this, it's a must :).

The problem with the comment of @Lucian is that, even then, we can't really modify the duration for a singular event without modifying all of their duration. -

MoisésOne way I think it could be taken as a reference is how Akiflow does it. The default is to just modify one instance, but the series is modified upon the usage of shift. Also, as others have mentioned, the default when pressing backspace (or dismissing a task), is to do it just for that day. I think this could be of high convenience in being able to do a proper weekly planning!
This might not be directly related but I think it is contained in the same use case (weekly planning with recurring tasks). Imagine the following scenario:
It's Sunday, you plan the week ahead and have 3 days of vacations (Wed to Fri). You also have an habit that happens everyday. Right now it's not possible to !hide the task from Wednesday to Friday and avoid it showing in your calendar until Saturday! (while showing still Monday, Tuesday).
These two could really improve the weekly / daily planning!
