Bulk editing of tasks
1. User should be able to via shift click or other mechanism select a number of tasks.
2. User should then be able to alter attributes of collection of tasks in aggregate.
user story>
I have 125 tasks with the tag school/fall2021
I could like to hide all tasks with a due date later than 11/1 for now
I view all tasks with school/fall2021 tag
I sort tasks my start date
I shift click the tasks due after 11/1
I use the task update GUI to hide tasks once
Change is in place for all selected tasks.

I was going to start a separate suggestion to allow bulk editing, specifically clearing accumulated task score (!reset-score), but allowing bulk editing of pretty much everything would be amazing. -

HL MergedUse cases:
1. move a list of tasks up and down together within a note
2. move a list of tasks to another note
3. select a list of tasks and bulk edit their properties such as start date and importance -

Lucian Admin MergedHey there HL! Thanks for your suggestion! A rather similar thing to what you are describing is already planned for the not so distant future. In the meantime:
1. Moving multiple tasks inside a task list should be possible by selecting them (with "Shift-Arrows") and using "Ctrl-Shift-Arrows".
2. Moving multiple tasks to another note is possible when they are nested under a single task (using the "!move" task command) and also using the new Extract-to-note button: https://www.amplenote.com/help/double-bracket-note-link-syntax#Extracting_text_selection_to_a_note -

Tom MergedThis is similar to the notes multi-select. It should be simple to select multiple tasks for tagging, completing, and similar. For example, I wanted to delete multiple startup tasks that Amplenote suggested (download iOS app, add a footnote, etc.), but had to do that one by one. Down the road this would be especially helpful for switching tags as projects change, or dimissing/deleting multiple tasks.

JoseThis is a 'hair on fire' issue for me now.
1. Because we have shared tags now, and we use a shared tag to onboard team members, we need to tag multiple documents with ease.
2. When using zettelkasten, the standard practice is to create multiple small notes about a problem and interlink them. That means that to share context about a decision you need to share multiple docs instead of a single, long one. Which means tagging multiple notes is a must -

weirdyeah, same with hiding...need to be able to hide a bunch of tasks until tomorrow or something
btw clicking inside a task and then pressing shift+up selects it and all its children. Continuing to press shift+up will add the task above it, etc. That's at least useful for bulk indent. -

Bettina MergedYes please: Bulk editing of notes, not only tasks! For editing tags, deleting, mark/unmark as shortcut, adding collaborateurs, downloading, and so on- everything I could do with a note.

Cibrán MergedIt would be great to select several tasks and be able to put e.g. the same due date or other details.
Please ignore if this is already possible, I'm new and checked the manuals but didn't find the way to do it. -

Pat Nims MergedIt would be super helpful to be able to select multiple tasks and then copy, move, add tags and links, set start date, priority ect.

Roger Searjeant MergedJust want to add my voice to this request. If I collect tasks in an Inbox note then when I review that note I will want to select several tasks and move them to todo/personal or todo/work etc. As things stand I have to process them one at a time and the move requires typing !move then typing the target note title.

j leo MergedCurrent Work around, for those who are using Task list / To-do and needs moving in bulk :
if you have Arc web browser or Microsoft edge, the split view tabs does wonders,
just drag and drop from 1 tab to another,
however it might duplicate on your notes , requiring you to manually remove the top portion
e.g say , today, jan 5th 2023, jots, you moved your previous to-do-list / task scheduled , via drag and drop in the split tab, to your 2nd tab in a 2nd split view tab, to a proper [ template ] Page that you have done with Kanban or grid or boxes you have done,
if the select all is fixed, at least via the desktop web browser interface, the mobile iOS should be heckalot easier to maanger on the fly later -

CibranPleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase! This is absolutely necessary. Am I the only one not able to finish all my tasks and wanting to pass all of them to the next week? Or changing some attributes like "Important" and "Urgent" or any other to several tasks?

Kayfun MergedHi,
I understand the technical limitations to add tags to tasks. That's the reason why to implement GTD properly, we need to multi-select tasks to change the status from "someday" to "next action", or the oposite if needed. Is it possible to do it? -
