Hide Tags from List

Would like the ability to hide tags from list in sidebar. This also helps in decluttering or even needing to spend time in thinking of a system to declutter.

Similar to Gmail's ability to hide labels.

Simply hiding tags is probably not in the plans, since it adds UI complexity. Is it a possibility to make better use of "nested tags" and perhaps "hide" hideable tags underneath a common parent?
