Convert footnote to note body when text converted to link

Let's say I have a bullet with part of it being a footnote:

* __a discussion__ I had today
{footnote: some text about what we discussed and an image of the sketch we made}

This is an important discussion so I want to make it a full note in my project. I can do that easily by putting [[ ]] around the main text:

* [[a discussion I had today]]

At this point a new note is created, but it'd be nice if the footnote contents (URL, text, image) were automatically copied to the new note body, especially as the footnote contents are lost when you make a link out of the main text anyway.

If there's multiple footnotes within the main text converted to a link, all of these could be copied to the new note body.
