Grey out crossed-out bullet list items

Under the above link, it is suggested that we can cross out bullet list items and use it as a checklist.
However, it is not practical in practice since it doesn't currently grey-out the crossed out items in the checklist. It is confusing as to which item is actually completed and how many more items are remaining.
It would make a big difference in usability if the crossed-out items are grey-out instead.

aerosol0To be honest, I prefer greying out completed tasks. Instead of a hard cross through the text. Imagine you have a long list of tasks, having the text all crossed out would make it extremely difficult to read. We still need to read them, else we wouldn't be crossing out inline.
Greying out the task, whole having a checkbox as ticked is cleaner. You know the task is completed. And you can. Still read the text easily.
Plus the text is grey like you wanted, so it doesn't distract.
