This can almost certainly be accomplished via plugin, though I'm not sure what the easiest approach to editing would be. Here is some popular prior art to aspire toward: https://github.com/artisticat1/obsidian-latex-suite -

The plugin renders latex math as image (which are convertible back to latex in single click). -

Sofía BarqueroThere's a plugin called amplemath that does this, tho it just gives you an image. It's an okay solution for now, but it'd be ideal to get a native solution, and even better that the output wasn't an image but actual text formatted in latex
